Chef Josefa Gonzalez Hastings

When Josefa Gonzalez Hastings opened the doors of Habana Cafe more than 25 years ago, she had a simple dream: to share the flavors of her childhood with the Gulfport community. What started as a small kitchen and a handful of family recipes has grown into one of Florida's most beloved Cuban restaurants.

Every dish on our menu carries the soul of Cuba — recipes passed down through generations, prepared with the same care and passion as a Sunday dinner at Abuela's house. Josefa's cooking has earned her national recognition, including the prestigious Signature Dessert Award from Southern Living Magazine for her legendary Cream Cheese Flan.

Her cookbook has been named among the best in the world, a testament to the authenticity and artistry she brings to every plate that leaves her kitchen.
